A lot of my work comes from the creative process that I call "having a conversation with my materials." My studio has been brimming with cut-offs and found objects that for some reason appeal to me. The Zoning Envelope series took advantage of this process during the development of an artists' condominium in Brooklyn as we were struggling with the vagaries of the New York City Zoning Code, which limits the three-dimensional volume of the proposed building.
